Poems

A Poem

Page to page

Is a flip away

From a mistake

But a Poem that scrolls

Becomes a story

Told completely in your control

The phone is a reflection

As time passes on

No matter the struggles

Keep on keepin' on

What do you do

When you can't do right

What is worth the effort

When all you experience is The Blight

Your try and try

To make it through each day

But the victim mentality

Just starts to eat away

Am i a victim?

Do i truly feel that way?

Do i need to change?

Or is there just a stone wall in the way?

I see it as it is

And I say what I can

But it seems like I am only causing more problems man.

My expectations aren't changing

And my strength is definitely waning

Please Father

Let me make it through one more winter snow

Forgive me Mother

I sent two of your little critters to the unknown

I stand tall when I can

I know who I am

I don't think I'm a victim

But why is everything going wrong then?

Because the truth is

I am only a young man.

Don't speak

Don't hear

You're walking in fear

Don't sleep

Don't wake

There is no escape

Walk in silence

Don't cause the violence

Try to disappear

Without shedding a tear

No reason to talk

No reason to say

Because they will silence your voice

Each and everyday

Dan The Man

Swung by our show

I don't think he even had a phone

He walked on clouds

He looked like Norm McDonald

He seemed like another genuine dude

Lost in this world of digital rude

I hope we can see him again

I hope that he becomes a friend

I hope he felt the same way

And he wasn't trying to lead us a stray

It's tough to learn someone's intention on first glance

It takes time to really know their stance

But the nice thing about meeting someone new

Is that they are usually a good person

Just looking to tap their foot

To a new tune
