It's funny how ice cream

Just makes you feel that much better

Like putting on your favorite

Night time sweater

It wraps your tongue

With so much more

Then sweets and treats

And taste buds galore

You start to remember

When it was just out of reach

And someone had to scoop it

For all to eat

It put smiles on faces

With scoops of sprinkles and fudge

Sometimes it would even come

In a root beer mug

A friendly helping

for every pair

Of little hands

Asking for their share

It was all worth the smacking lips,

The loud sips,

and messy drips

EVERYWHERE!

But before all that...

There was always

Someone handing out the fun

It was the lady

With the big spoon

But they ended up taking that back
